We see God in tomatoes. And cucumbers. In freshly-griddled tortillas. And of course, real butter. There are few things more sacred than growing, cooking, and sharing food with one another.

At Gilead, food is fundamental to our life together. Food is worship when we gather at the table each week with homemade bread and a decent bottle of wine. Food is service when we give away the produce we’ve grown in our garden plot on Howard. And it’s relationship when we deliver a casserole to the new parents trying to stay afloat. Food is even evangelism, when you leave church telling friends, “You have to taste the pie my minister baked!”

We believe eating is a spiritual practice. Join us for pie and potlucks, communion and community gardening. Pretty soon you’ll be seeing God in tomatoes.
